An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion has killed two people at a 200-housing estate under construction in Dalwa, Borno State. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, coinciding with the commissioning of housing estates in Maiduguri by Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni.
The explosion took place in Dalwa, a community located 175 kilometers from Maiduguri, which had previously been affected by Boko Haram insurgency, leading to widespread displacement and destruction.
A similar incident was reported the previous day, though details remain unclear. The ongoing reconstruction of Dalwa includes the development of 200 houses, part of the state government’s efforts to rebuild communities devastated by the insurgency.
