Big Brother Naija Season 9 winner, Kellyrae, has opened up about a challenging period in his life when he lost all his money to gambling, leading to depression and straining his relationship with Kassia.
In a heartfelt conversation with Chude Jideonwo, Kellyrae recounted the traumatic experience, which occurred shortly before his participation in the reality show.
“I had some money, but because I wanted more, I started gambling and lost it all,” he revealed. “I was depressed, staying awake every night thinking. Kassia stood by me through those tough times.”
Kellyrae admitted that the guilt of not being able to provide adequately for Kassia almost led him to end their relationship. He said:
“I called her one day and suggested breaking up because I felt I couldn’t care for her the way I should. But she came to my rescue and gave me strength.”
