Activist Deji Adeyanju Alleges PDP Leadership Compromise

-

Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has accused Umar Damagum, the acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the party’s National Secretary, Sam Anyanwu, of colluding with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast, Adeyanju alleged that Damagum served tea at the residence of Femi Gbajabiamila, President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, while Anyanwu reportedly offered Kilishi there.

According to Adeyanju, the PDP’s leadership, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has been infiltrated by Tinubu’s allies. He claimed this compromises the party’s ability to act as an opposition.

“The current PDP is in Wike’s pocket. He installed the National Chairman, who serves tea at Gbajabiamila’s House, while the National Secretary serves Kilishi,” Adeyanju alleged.

He went further to criticize the party for failing to challenge the APC-led government, alleging that Tinubu plans to influence PDP’s choice of a presidential candidate for 2027.

Adeyanju stated, “People have lost faith in the opposition. The PDP, as it stands, is working with the APC. Tinubu is a master at crushing opposition, as seen in Lagos over the past 24 years.”

The claims raise questions about the unity and independence of the PDP as Nigeria’s leading opposition party.
