Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, known as Mohbad, emphasizes the need for a DNA test to be conducted on his grandson. This has stirred considerable debate among Nigerians regarding the paternity of the late singer’s son, Liam.
During an interview with Stams TV, Mohbad’s father stressed the importance of a DNA test for his grandson, considering it a matter of national concern. In response to rumors about a previous DNA test, he clarified that no such test could proceed without his consent.
Mr. Aloba insisted on being physically present during the DNA test or appointing a representative to ensure transparency. Additionally, he proposed that the test should be conducted at two different hospitals to ensure the accuracy of the results.
He explained, “Concerning the DNA test, it’s a must they do it. Nigerians are demanding for it. I heard rumors that they did it but no matter what, I’m Mohbad’s father, so I’ll give consent on the DNA test or send anyone who can represent me during the test if I’m not there to know how they’ll do it. And even when they want to do it, it should be done in two different places so we can be very sure and know the truth.”
Furthermore, Mr. Aloba expressed his desire for the child to be Mohbad’s son because he has grown fond of him. He shared an anecdote of the singer’s interactions with Liam before his passing. He concluded by emphasizing the necessity of the DNA test for the sake of clarity and the future.
