Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has taken to Instagram to vent her frustrations and call out Production Managers within the Yoruba movie industry. In a candid post, Wumi expressed her disappointment, emphasizing that it’s only in the Yoruba movie sector that Production Managers exhibit nonchalant attitudes towards the cast and crew.
She urged her fellow actors and crew members not to rely on production managers for their meals, warning that doing so could lead to health issues like ulcers. Clearly, Wumi Toriola had a negative experience on a recent movie set, which prompted her to speak out and express concern for her own well-being.
In her words, she said, “Actors and crew, don’t wait for feeding allowances from production managers before you eat. Don’t wait until you complete certain scenes. Take that necessary break. Waiting will only result in you developing ulcers. Only I know how my body feels right now. Production Managers on set, you need to take note of this.”
She stressed that this behavior is unique to the Yoruba movie industry and referred to it as “nonchalant attitude towards cast and crew.”
This isn’t the first time Wumi Toriola has used her platform to address industry-related issues. Previously, she penned a letter to young Nollywood producers, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a strong work ethic and treating everyone with respect. She shared her own experiences of feeling overworked and undervalued.
Additionally, Wumi has raised concerns about the violent roles she’s been given in movies, which she believes may affect her chances of finding love. Her openness on these issues highlights her commitment to addressing challenges within the industry and advocating for change.
