El Kanemi Warriors’ head coach, Aliyu Zubair, highlighted the club’s philosophy of prioritizing a strong team structure over individual player development. Zubair, who also coaches the Flying Eagles and led them to victory in the 2024 WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship, shared insights into El Kanemi’s unbeaten start to the NPFL 2024/25 season.
“We don’t build players; we build structure,” Zubair emphasized at the Kwara SWAN Sports Hard Talk. He attributes their success to consistent training and tactical preparation, applying the same standards for both starters and substitutes.
Zubair also noted the importance of developing young, coachable players, ideally aged 15–22, and praised Kwara United’s commitment to youth development. Expressing gratitude to his mentors, he credited them for shaping his coaching style and values.
El Kanemi’s recent 1-0 victory over Katsina United elevated them to fourth place in the league standings, just five points behind the leaders.
