“Nigerian Musician Davido Faces Controversy Over Alleged 218 Million Naira Debt”
Popular Nigerian musician Davido has recently come under scrutiny as a businessman, identified as Abusalami on Instagram, accused him of owing a substantial sum of 218 million Naira. This accusation has gained significant public attention as the businessman claimed that he paid the money to Davido for a project supporting children but was left in a difficult situation when Davido failed to fulfill their agreement.
Abusalami shared his disappointment and alleged that Davido’s lawyers and associates had been putting pressure on him. He explained that he initially paid 218 million Naira out of a total of 326 million Naira for the project, which aimed to travel to 20 different states with an 11-member production team to discover young talented footballers. However, the project took a major hit when Davido withdrew his involvement, reportedly costing Abusalami an additional 42 million Naira.
Abusalami claimed he had tried to engage with Davido, even requesting that he share a promotional video for the project, but Davido declined. To support his claims, Abusalami shared screenshots of their alleged conversations.
Since the allegations surfaced, Davido has not issued a response, sparking various reactions on the internet. Some observers have noted that Davido often faces controversies and accusations, unlike some of his fellow A-list musicians such as Burna Boy and Wizkid.
This situation has ignited discussions about accountability and fair treatment in the entertainment industry, with many emphasizing the importance of addressing allegations promptly and objectively, regardless of the celebrity involved.
