The Ondo State Police Command has arrested the prime suspect in the murder of businessman Alhaji Awoyinka Sumaila. Sumaila, a building materials dealer, was killed by gunmen at his residence in the Idi Mango area of Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area, on March 1, 2025. The suspect, identified as Ijalo, was apprehended on April 10 in Osogbo, Osun State, following a thorough investigation. During a search of Ijalo’s premises, authorities recovered a locally-made pistol believed to have been used in the crime, along with various charms. The police have reiterated their commitment to eradicating criminal activities in Ondo State.
