Nigeria Wraps Up Paris 2024 Paralympic Games with Seven Medals

Nigeria has concluded its participation in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, securing seventh place on the overall medal table with a total of seven medals, including two golds, three silvers, and two bronzes.

In a standout performance, Onyinyechi Mark set a new Paralympic record in the women’s 61kg powerlifting category with a remarkable lift of 145kg. Folashade Oluwafemiayo also delivered an exceptional performance, winning gold in the women’s over 86kg powerlifting category.

Bose Omolayo earned a silver medal in the women’s up to 79kg Para-powerlifting category with a lift of 145kg. Flora Ugwunwa achieved silver in the women’s Javelin F54 category with a throw of 19.26 meters. Esther Nworgu added another silver medal in the powerlifting women’s up to 41kg category.

Isau Ogunkunle made history by winning bronze in the Men’s Singles Class 4 event in Para Table Tennis, becoming the first Nigerian player to secure an individual medal in this sport since the Sydney 2000 Games.
