In a statement commemorating Nigeria’s 64th independence anniversary, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has urged citizens to support, cooperate, and pray for the country’s leadership to succeed. The Governor’s call comes as Nigeria faces significant challenges, including insecurity, economic issues, and environmental factors.
Buni emphasized that the prolonged decay suffered by the nation requires sacrifice, perseverance, and a strong commitment from all Nigerians to restore the country’s glory. “The challenges of insecurity, the economy, climatic and environmental factors require strategic and meticulous intervention,” he stated.
He also urged traditional, religious, and opinion leaders to promote peace, tolerance, and cooperation to foster unity among the populace. “We should explore our diversity to promote national unity, and we must not misuse our cultural, ethnic, and religious differences to the detriment of our national unity,” Buni added.
The Governor expressed his belief that effective leadership during these challenging times necessitates collective support and unity among citizens. He remains optimistic that Nigeria will overcome its current difficulties.
