According to movie producer Stanley Ontop, the body of a makeup artist who was recovered after a recent accident has been buried in a small ceremony at the riverbank due to a lack of funds to transport her back to her hometown in Akwa Ibom.
Following the incident, reports emerged that three other bodies were missing, and divers vowed to continue searching the following day. During the search, they found the bodies of the makeup artist, Abigail, and the camera assistant, Friday.
While funeral arrangements for the others have not yet been finalized, the body of Abigail has been laid to rest at the riverbank in a small ceremony.
Movie director Moses Eskor stated that the artist’s father could not afford the expenses for traditional rites or the cost of returning her body to her home state.
Despite efforts to raise funds, they fell short. Stanley Ontop expressed his sorrow over the loss and called for the arrest of the producer and boat driver for their negligence.
