The Ogun State Police Command has officially reported the electrocution of an unidentified individual in the Day Waterman area near Kobape. The victim was engaged in cutting a cable belonging to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) when the tragic incident occurred.
According to the police, the incident was reported by an IBEDC staff member from the Owode Egba branch. Omolola Odutola, the Public Relations Officer of the command, confirmed the fatality and stated that the deceased’s body has been transported to the Ogun State Teaching Hospital Sagamu for autopsy.
In a separate incident, two casual staff members of Quantum Packaging Company in Igbesa were arrested for allegedly stealing a cable suspected to be company property. The Chief Security Officer of the company, Okoi Akilepo, initially apprehended the suspects during a foot patrol, and they were subsequently handed over to the police.
Both suspects have reportedly confessed to the crime, and the police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
