A High Court in Doma, Nasarawa State, has extended its restraining order preventing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from conducting congresses in the state. The extension follows an earlier order issued on September 27, 2024, in response to a motion filed by 16 PDP members, led by Senator Mohammed Ogoshi-Onawo (PDP, Nasarawa South).
The plaintiffs named the PDP as the first respondent, alongside the Nasarawa State PDP Chairman, Mr. Francis Orogu, and the State Working Committee as additional respondents.
Justice Abdullahi Shams-Shammah extended the order after considering legal arguments from both sides, with the next hearing scheduled for October 8, 2024. Counsel for the plaintiffs, Ishaka Mudi-Diko (SAN), emphasized the need to maintain the status quo until the court reaches a final judgment on the matter.
