A Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt has dismissed a motion filed by Chukwuemeka Aaron and others seeking leave to appeal a judgment that nullified their positions as executives of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State. Justice Stephen Jumbo ruled that since the PDP, as the primary defendant, had already filed an appeal against the judgment that invalidated the congresses producing these executives, the applicants could not appeal as interested parties. This decision affects party officials at the state, local government, and ward levels, all of whom are considered loyalists of the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.
