Ancelotti Backs Mbappé After Penalty Miss in Real Madrid’s Loss to Liverpool

-

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has expressed his unwavering support for Kylian Mbappé after the French forward missed a crucial penalty in their 2-0 loss to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.

Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister had opened the scoring before Mbappé’s penalty attempt was saved by goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, denying Real Madrid a chance to equalize. Later in the match, Mohamed Salah also missed a penalty for Liverpool, but Cody Gakpo sealed the win with a header from a corner kick.

After the game, Ancelotti defended Mbappé, stating: “Mbappé has all of our support and he will soon turn the situation around. He’s an extraordinary player. We must be patient as he continues to adapt and improve. We are with him.”

The result marked a setback for Real Madrid, while Liverpool strengthened their position in the competition with a commanding performance at Anfield.
