Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has appointed three of his Special Assistants as acting commissioners following the recent dismissal and suspension of some commissioners.
Franklin Ukah, Special Assistant on Water Resources, Patrick Enyi, Special Assistant on Housing and Urban Development, and Dr. Sabinus Nwibo, Special Assistant on Primary Health, have been tasked with overseeing their respective ministries as acting commissioners.
This development comes after the governor suspended Commissioner for Water Resources, Mr. Chinedu Nkah; Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Engr. Francis Ori; and Commissioner for Health, Dr. Moses Ekuma, over allegations of gross misconduct and dereliction of duties.
Jude Okpo, Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, confirmed the appointments in a statement issued in Abakaliki on Wednesday. The new acting commissioners were directed to begin their duties immediately.
