Hassana Ozohu Salisu, the newly crowned Miss Nollywood International, has unveiled an ambitious one-year development plan aimed at transforming Nigeria’s movie industry. The plan is designed to positively impact lives across all six geopolitical zones of the country.
During a meeting with members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Kogi State, Salisu expressed her commitment to discovering new talents who can serve as role models for a united Nigeria. She emphasized her dedication to championing the slogan “For the Love of My Nation,” which reflects her vision for national unity and social change.
Key Initiatives
Salisu outlined several key initiatives for her year in office:
– Talent Discovery: Aiming to identify and nurture new talents within the film industry.
– Community Engagement: Plans to visit correctional centers, schools, and hospitals to raise awareness and provide support.
– Infrastructure Improvement: Committing to rehabilitate road projects by filling 64,000 potholes across Kogi State.
– Youth and Women Empowerment: Targeting thousands of young people and women for empowerment initiatives.
– Advocacy for Girls’ Rights: Ensuring the protection of young girls’ rights within her community.
Salisu highlighted the need for collective action against various social issues, including corruption, ethnic division, and drug abuse. She believes that personal love for the nation will translate into collective efforts to combat these challenges.
Call for Media Support
She appealed to the media, recognizing its critical role as the “fourth estate,” to support her vision. Salisu stressed that her initiatives extend beyond the film industry and are geared toward uplifting the image of Nigeria as a whole.
“I am open to collaboration and believe that impacting lives and giving back to society has been my driving force over the years,” she said.
Orits Gee, her newly appointed manager and CEO of Omedia Nigeria Limited, praised Salisu as a symbol of hope for younger generations. He urged journalists to provide necessary publicity for her activities to help realize her plans.

Background of Miss Hassana Ozohu Salisu
Crowned as Miss Nollywood International for 2024 after competing against 18 contestants, Salisu is a representative of Kogi State. She is currently an undergraduate at Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, with certifications in procurement studies and filmmaking. Additionally, she has completed a certification in Transitional Film Projects from Bournemouth University in London and is pursuing further studies in journalism.
As the founder of the Sallhassy Empowerment Foundation, Salisu has previously launched humanitarian projects and manages over 130 actors through her Sallhassy Empire Entertainment. She is also the chairperson of the Northern Filmmakers Association of Nigeria’s Abuja chapter.
Her passion for the film industry and desire to foster positive change were evident during her pageant responses, reflecting her commitment to giving back to her community and the broader society.
