Nollywood actor Junior Pope Odonwodo has passed away, just hours after reports suggested he had returned to life. The news was confirmed by Nollywood producer Stanley in an Instagram Live video, where he shared that the team did everything possible to save the actor.
“He’s confirmed dead. We tried all we could,” Stanley announced.
Stanley further shared on his Instagram story that Junior Pope had died, leaving fans in disbelief and sadness.

Nigerianews24 had earlier reported that the actor was alive, citing accounts that he had been taken to a hospital after being found alive at a mortuary, where an attendant noted his signs of life.
The actor had been taken to a Water Shrine for rituals, and videos circulated online showing him struggling for his life.
Actress Uche Nnanna also expressed concern for the actor and requested prayers, indicating that Junior Pope was alive at the time.
Junior Pope Odonwodo’s death is a tragic loss for the Nollywood community, especially as reports had initially suggested his revival after drowning while returning from a movie set in Anambra State. Fans and colleagues mourn the loss of the talented actor.
