Zamfara State’s Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander, Tijjani Illiyasu, has issued a stern warning to motorists against engaging in over-speeding, overloading, and driving under the influence of drugs.
Speaking at a town hall meeting held at the UBE Training Centre in Gusau, the state capital, Illiyasu emphasized the dangers of reckless driving. The meeting aimed to engage stakeholders and drivers, highlighting the risks associated with unsafe driving practices.
Illiyasu urged motorists to adhere to road safety regulations, stressing that obeying traffic laws is crucial to preventing accidents and ensuring safety on the roads.
The event, attended by key stakeholders, was chaired by Hon. Lawal Barau Bungudu, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, who commended the turnout and urged participants to apply the lessons from the meeting in their daily driving habits.
The Emir of Gusau, HRH Dr. Ibrahim Bello, represented by the senior district head, also expressed his support for the town hall meeting, noting its importance in promoting road safety in the region.
