Nollywood actress Ego Nwosu has emphasized the importance of federal government support for the film industry through loans. In a recent discussion with Potpourri, the Edo State-born actress highlighted the industry’s struggle with inadequate funding despite its creative potential.
Nwosu argued that while Nollywood boasts no shortage of compelling stories, financial constraints hinder the production of high-quality films. She suggested that government-provided grants and loans could significantly alleviate the financial burden on producers.
“There are numerous ways the government can support the movie industry. Establishing grants and loan opportunities would enable producers to fund their projects more effectively,” Nwosu explained. “The core issue isn’t a lack of good stories but rather the financial resources needed to bring these stories to life. Government-backed loan facilities could streamline production and reduce the stress of securing funding.”
