President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that he sees no reason to investigate Nigeria’s security chiefs, expressing confidence in their performance and emphasizing the importance of respecting security institutions.
During a media chat on Monday, the president responded to questions about probing the security leadership amidst ongoing security challenges. Tinubu firmly stated, “I’m not probing any service chief. You cannot disrespect the institution because of the threat of probe, and you cannot fight this war without investment in technology, in weaponry.”
**Recognition of Security Efforts**
The president acknowledged the difficult conditions under which security personnel operate, including the vast and challenging terrains of Nigeria. He commended their dedication and highlighted improvements in safety, particularly in travel security, compared to previous years.
“They are living and operating in a very serious condition. We have a huge country, a very huge one, with lots of forests and unoccupied spaces. Give them credit for what they are doing. I am proud of what they are doing today. No need to probe,” Tinubu added.
**Focus on Modernization**
Tinubu also underscored the need for continued investment in technology and advanced weaponry to strengthen Nigeria’s security apparatus further.
