President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on his 68th birthday, acknowledging his contributions to Nigeria’s development.
In a statement by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu commended Osinbajo’s role in delivering governance and infrastructure projects while serving as Vice President from 2015 to 2023.
He also recalled Osinbajo’s leadership as acting president during Muhammadu Buhari’s medical leave, highlighting his capabilities and dedication.
Additionally, Tinubu reflected on their earlier collaboration when Osinbajo served as attorney general and commissioner for justice in Lagos State, working together on judicial and political reforms.
Recognizing Osinbajo’s democratic right to contest against him in the 2023 APC presidential primary, Tinubu reaffirmed their enduring friendship, saying:
“Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will always remain my friend and associate. He served our country meritoriously as vice president to President Muhammadu Buhari.”
The president joined Osinbajo’s family, friends, and associates in wishing him good health, continued success, and future achievements.
