Sutton Slams Mbappe’s Performance in Real Madrid’s UCL Loss to Liverpool

-

Former Premier League striker Chris Sutton has criticized Kylian Mbappe following Real Madrid’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in their Champions League clash on Wednesday night.

Mbappe missed a crucial second-half penalty that could have leveled the game after Alexis Mac Allister’s opening goal for Liverpool. While Mohamed Salah also missed from the spot, Cody Gakpo sealed the victory with a header from a corner.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Sutton was candid about Mbappe’s lackluster performance, describing it as a “stinker.”

“At this moment in time, there is something missing for Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid, which will be a real conundrum for Carlo Ancelotti,” Sutton remarked. “Let’s get it right. He had a stinker tonight. Missed the penalty and was miles off it. Him going there was supposed to take them to the next level.”

Mbappe’s rocky debut season with Real Madrid has drawn attention, and this latest setback only adds to the scrutiny.
