Renowned Nollywood actress Rita Dominic has opened up about her experience of being effectively barred from the movie industry by a group of influential marketers.
In an interview shared on Joy997fm’s official Instagram page, Dominic revealed how these marketers, once considered the powerhouses of Nollywood, imposed a ban on her involvement in the industry.
Dominic expressed, “Before I ventured into production and established our company, I faced a silent ban. I was excluded from Nollywood by the influential marketers who held significant sway over the industry.”
She elaborated on her reasons, stating, “I was banned because I dared to approach things differently. I reached a point where I believed that if anyone wanted to engage an actor’s services, it was best to communicate with their management.”
Dominic’s candid revelation sheds light on the challenges faced by actors in Nollywood and the industry’s dynamics surrounding power and influence.
