Sir Michael Gambon, a distinguished Hollywood actor, peacefully passed away in a hospital at the age of 82, as confirmed by his family.

Best recognized for his iconic portrayal of Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore in several Harry Potter films, Sir Michael embarked on his acting journey over six decades ago and was a founding member of the Royal National Theatre, sharing the stage with Laurence Olivier.

He further showcased his talent by taking on the role of the famous French detective Jules Maigret in the ITV series Maigret and gracing the BBC series, The Singing Detective.

A statement released on behalf of Lady Gambon and their son, Fergus Gambon, conveyed their profound sorrow: “We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon. Beloved husband and father, Michael passed away peacefully in the hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus by his side, after battling pneumonia.”

Sir Michael’s illustrious career was adorned with accolades, including Oliviers, BAFTAs, and Emmys, reflecting his remarkable contributions to both stage and screen over his six-decade-long journey.

His acting debut was in a production of Othello in Dublin back in 1962, leading him to become an integral part of the National Theatre in London. He graced stages across the UK, New York, and Germany. Othello also marked his first appearance on the silver screen in 1965, and he continued to enchant audiences with memorable roles in beloved films like Gosford Park, Sleepy Hollow, and the Paddington series.

However, it was his portrayal of Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter series, taking over from Richard Harris, that catapulted Sir Michael Gambon into the hearts of modern cinema audiences.

Award-winning artist Davido has declared his fourth album, *Timeless*, as his best work to date. In an interview with comedian and actor Broda Shaggi during the unveiling of his new Puma collection, Davido discussed his fashion choices and shared insights about his music.

Reflecting on his style, Davido stated, “They say I like to dress like a rapper because I love urban fashion. I love wearing T-shirts, jeans, and sneakers to look comfortable. You will find me in a suit when it’s time to collect money. Sometimes, I also wear Agbada.”

Released on March 31, 2023, *Timeless* achieved remarkable success, setting records for first-day and first-week streams on platforms like Spotify Nigeria, Audiomack, Boomplay, and YouTube. The film *dire, featuring Kehinde Bankole, has garnered four nominations at the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards. FilmOne Entertainment announced this achievement via their Instagram, highlighting the film’s exceptional cinematography and performances.

The nominations include:
– Best Cinematography
– Best Actress
– Best Costume
– Best Production Design

Released on Netflix on January 13, 2024, Adire earned ₦8 million in its opening weekend. The BON Awards, established in 2009, recognize outstanding achievements within the Nollywood industry and feature over 30 categories.

The film follows a young female fashion entrepreneur, played by Kehinde Bankole, who grapples with the consequences of her dark past as a sex worker. It was created and written by Jack’enneth Opukeme, who also acts in the film, and directed by Adeoluwa Owu, also known as Captain Degzy. The cast includes notable names such as Femi Branch, Kelechi Udegbe, and Yvonne Jegede.
