The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the restoration of bulk power supply to several northern states after a prolonged outage lasting weeks. TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah confirmed that electricity was reinstated on Wednesday at 4:56 PM through the 330 kV Ugwuaji-Apir transmission line.
Power has been restored to Lafia, Makurdi, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, and Gombe states, following repairs on the vandalized transmission line. TCN stated that their engineers are now focused on repairing the second vandalized 330 kV line to further enhance power restoration efforts across the region.
In a statement, TCN emphasized that all necessary materials for the repairs are available and that work will commence once the site is secured for the safety of their personnel. Meanwhile, linesmen will patrol the affected areas to ensure no additional sections are impacted as repairs continue.
