BBNaija Season 7 winner Josephina Otabor, also known as Phyna, has declined a N13 million offer from Quidax, one of the show’s sponsors.
Phyna has criticized the reality show’s sponsors and organizers for not providing all the prizes they initially promised.
Two years ago, Quidax pledged to award Phyna one Bitcoin as part of her prize, but she has yet to receive it.
Recently, Quidax met with Phyna after her public criticism and offered her N13 million, citing it as equivalent to one Bitcoin’s value in 2022.
However, in an audio clip shared on social media, Phyna stated that she rejected the offer and demanded the actual one Bitcoin, which she claims is now worth over N90 million.
Additionally, she also insisted on receiving tickets for a two-person trip to the Maldives, a reward she was entitled to from the show’s organizers and sponsors.
Phyna said, “I am insisting on my Maldives trip for two. I expect to receive my tickets for the Maldives. You can’t offer me options like Kenya or Morocco instead, as I can fund those trips myself if I choose.”
She also added, “Quidax offered me N13 million, the rate of 1 BTC in 2022. When I checked the rates in November 2022, 1 BTC was around N19 million. If Quidax had given me the 1 BTC in 2022, I would have around N96 million in my wallet today. But now, they want to give me N13 million, which doesn’t cover my losses from the past two to three years.”
