PDP Inaugurates New Executive Members Amid Crisis in Benue State

-

The Benue State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially inaugurated its newly elected executives, despite ongoing internal crises. The ceremony took place on Thursday, where Mr. Chris Abah was sworn in as the new chairman, alongside 14 other members of the State Working Committee (SWC).

Barr Sam Tsumba administered the oath of office at the party’s state secretariat in New GRA, Makurdi, representing the Benue PDP Caretaker Committee. He congratulated the newly appointed officials for their leadership roles within the party.

Mr. Abah and the other officials were elected during the Benue State PDP Congress, which was held on October 3. Other key positions included Hon. Clement Azuanongo as Deputy Chairman, Mr. Moses Audu as Secretary, Saater Atser as Youth Leader, and Grace Abine as Woman Leader, among others.

In his acceptance speech, Chairman Abah emphasized the responsibility he has taken on and vowed to work diligently to restore PDP’s influence in Benue State. He urged party members to unite and support the party’s efforts to make a comeback in the 2027 elections.

It’s worth noting that the Benue PDP has been marked by factional disputes, particularly between the Ortom/Moro and Suswan camps, which resulted in parallel State Congresses on the same day.
