The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Ondo State, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, has refuted allegations that she is aligned with a specific candidate ahead of the November 16 governorship election.
In response to calls from the Ondo State Youth Vanguard for her redeployment, claiming she had secret meetings with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Babalola dismissed the accusations as baseless.
Babalola clarified that she has maintained neutrality, affirming, “I didn’t hold any clandestine meeting with the governor or any member of any political party.” She emphasized her commitment to engaging openly with all political parties while upholding her impartiality as an INEC official.
She assured that the election would be conducted transparently, promising, “Every vote counts, and there won’t be any form of bias. The election will be free, fair, and credible.”
