Indian authorities in Bengaluru have arrested a 40-year-old Nigerian woman, Roselime Oluchi Ikeoha, in connection with a large-scale drug trafficking operation.
The Central Crime Branch’s Anti-Narcotics Wing seized 12 kilograms of MDMA, valued at approximately ₹24 crore, from Ikeoha, marking one of the largest drug busts in Bengaluru’s history.
Police Commissioner B. Dayananda revealed that Ikeoha had been running a grocery shop in the TC Palya area for five years, which was allegedly a cover for her drug distribution activities. Additionally, 70 SIM cards were found in her possession, hinting at a broader criminal network.
Investigations have revealed Ikeoha overstayed her business visa and sold drugs at inflated prices. Authorities are now pursuing leads on her suppliers and a Mumbai-based woman suspected of being involved in the network.
Ikeoha faces charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Foreigners Act. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further details of the trafficking operation.
