1. Federal lawmaker on monday presents car gifts to campaign coordinators in Ibadan, Rep. Stanley Olajide (PDP-Ibadan South-West/North-West) on Monday in Ibadan, donated two Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to his campaign coordinators during the 2019 general elections. “I hold my people’s support for my aspiration in trust to always meet their yearnings, deliver on our set mandates and be the best lawmaker ever elected in the constituency,” he said.
The beneficiaries thanked the lawmaker for fulfilling his promise, praying God Almighty to continue to guide and protect him in all his endeavours.They pledged their unalloyed support to the lawmaker as he delivered on his mandate in the National Assembly and the constituency.
2. Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno has condoled with the Nigerian Army over the demise of Col. Dahiru Bako, killed in an ambush by Boko Haram insurgents. According to reports Bako was ambushed on Sept. 20 while leading his troops on a clearance at Sabon Gari-Wajiroko axis in Damboa Local Government Area of the state.
“The people of Borno will forever be grateful to late Col. Bako and everyone like him. We pray that Allah forgives his shortcomings and those of all our fallen heroes.”
The governor pledged his administration’s continued support to the Nigerian army to enable its personnel to execute the counter terrorism campaign and restore total normalcy in the state.
3.The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 195 new cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in the country.The NCDC made this known on its official twitter handle on Monday.The health agency sadly reported two new deaths raising the death toll in the country to 1,100.It also reported that 105 patients who had been treated and had also recovered from the infection were discharged across the country. The agency has warned that majority of Nigerian states were not testing enough. They also The NCDC appealed to more states to test consistently so that progress could be monitored on a national level.
4. The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Nigerian International Securities Limited (NISL) and the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) on Monday commited to expanding retail investment opportunities in the capital market.The trio made the commitment at a webinar organised by the NSE in collaboration with the NISL in Lagos.It was also supported by the CIS and the Association of Securities Dealing Houses of Nigeria (ASHON).Mr Oscar Onyema, Chief Executive Officer, NSE, in his address, said that investor participation was crucial to sustainable economic growth.
5.The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission(NERC) says it is working on ways to monitor the quality of service of power supplied to customers. Mr Nathan Shatti, the NERC’s Commissioner, Finance and Management Services disclosed this at the commission’s Virtual Town Hall Meeting on Monday night.The meeting was held with representatives of
Electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOs), Meter Asset Providers and other stakeholders in the power sector.
The News report that customer commended NERC for the meeting as they said it was an opportunity to express themselves and called for the continuity of such forums.

6. The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) says it will continue to use its regulatory instruments to enhance revenue collection for the Federal Government.DPR’s Director, Mr Sarki Auwalu made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday 22nd of september in Lagos.Auwalu said the DPR, as a revenue collection agency of government had remitted 1.03 billion dollars to the Federation Account from oil and gas royalties and legacy debts. The department collects oil and gas royalties, which represent the proportional value of oil and gas production and flare gas penalties, He said.Auwalu explained that it was not part of DPR’s functions to advise government against borrowing from global financial institutions.According to him, there are agencies that are statutorily empowered to do that.
7.COVID-19: PTF urges religious leaders to ask congregation to wear face mask.Mr Boss Mustapha, the Chairman, Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, has advised religious leaders to without fear or favour continue to prevail on their congregations to wear facemask.He gave the advice, while responding to questions during the PTF media briefing on COVID-19 on Monday in Abuja. 8.Minimum wage: Labour lists offending states, plans street protests, talks. Negotiations on the N30,000 minimum wage, which were suspended in some states in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak in March, would resume this week.Labour leaders told newspaper correspondents that Osun, Kwara, Ekiti, Imo, Gombe, Kogi, Zamfara and Ebonyi state governments had not started the minimum wage implementation.It was gathered that on Monday that workers in no fewer than eight states had yet to be paid the minimum wage nine months after the deadline the Nigeria Labour Congress gave state governments.In a communiqué issued after its meeting on December 11, 2019, the NLC gave state governments a December 31 deadline to conclude negotiations on the minimum wage.
