Mohbad’s Father Alleges Son Was Killed by Mistress, Questions Grandson’s Paternity

Published

on

Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Mohbad, has made startling claims in a recent interview with Oyinmomo TV. He alleged that Mohbad’s mistress was responsible for his son’s death, though he did not disclose her name.

In the interview, Baba Mohbad also asserted that Liam, Mohbad’s purported son, is not his grandson. He questioned Liam’s paternity, noting that the child’s name does not have a Christian origin and that he lacks family traits.

This contradicts Baba Mohbad’s earlier statements from an April interview, where he did not express doubts about Liam’s paternity. He had previously insisted on a DNA test not because he doubted the paternity, but to satisfy the curiosity of concerned Nigerians.

### Reactions from the Public
– **Deecent Boy**: “I support this man with my full chest. Cos I don’t know what’s still stopping her to do DNA.”
– **Deslilym**: “Wunmi was cheating on Mohbad, why hasn’t she done the DNA to shut this man up?”
– **I Karlis**: “Since she can’t prove it to the man, he has the right to say the son is not his grandson, simple. Wunmi knows who the father of the child is, that’s why she’s calm about it.”
– **Ese Osaimfi**: “Just because of property. He doesn’t want Liam to inherit, shame to this man.”
– **Onome**: “That child isn’t Mohbad’s son if not why should doing DNA test turn story.”
– **Omolowo Akande**: “Now this story Dey clear thank God the man is speaking up a lot of secrets will be exposed, my question is why did the lady not do DNA test in order to clear out her name and son.”

### Background and Legal Proceedings
Following Mohbad’s death, there has been a call from many, including his father, for a DNA test to confirm Liam’s paternity. Mohbad’s partner, Omawunmi, has refused to conduct the test, asserting that no one has the right to demand it from her. She previously revealed that her son’s placenta caused a rift between her and Mohbad’s father, as they used to be close.

Last month, the Chief Magistrate Court in Ikorodu granted an order requiring Omawunmi to be served notice of a pending DNA test application. The legal team informed the court of two failed attempts to serve her, after which the Chief Magistrate ordered that the notice be posted at her last known address, which was done by placing it on her house gate.

The ongoing dispute continues to garner attention, with many awaiting further developments in this contentious matter.
