The Lagos State House of Assembly has impeached Speaker Mudashiru Obasa following allegations of multiple statutory and financial infractions.
In a swift move, the lawmakers elected Obasa’s deputy, Lasbat Meranda, as the new Speaker. Meranda, who represents Apapa Constituency 1, previously served as the Chief Whip of the House.
