Group Assures Tinubu of Support Ahead of 2023 Polls

Published

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, a pressure group, Tinubu Support Group has assured former Governor of Lagos State and the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu of their support and unalloyed loyalty as he prepares to lead the country as the number one citizen.

In a statement signed by the Convener of the group, Comrade Nosa Aigbokhan and made available to journalists, the CSO described Tinubu as a highly experienced and internationally exposed politician and leader who has all it takes to lead the country to the promised land.

“As it stands, Nigeria is too divided to have somebody without experience and the right contacts both national and international. The office of the president is not an experimental lab where people will come and learn on the job. We need somebody who can heal the hate and division across ethnic and religious lines.

We want a President who will groom the next generation of leaders from his cabinets”, the statement noted.

Aside from experience and exposure, the CSO noted the ability to form a formidable team which is Jagaba’s strong quality as he has done this severally as the Governor of Lagos. Adding that one of the reasons why there is the failure of governance in Nigeria is the inability to gather an experienced team that can work towards bringing good leadership to the country.

“We expect to have a president that will be able to assemble a team within a week, a team that he knows, that he trusts, a team that comes from his political school of thought and not borrowed team, a team that has worked with him in public and private space and performed exceptionally. A team that cut across tribes gender, religion and ethnic lines”, the statement added.

While urging Nigerians with talents and skills to key into the Tinubu agenda, the group hailed the team spirit that Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu embodies and challenged Nigerians to go beyond emotions and consider all the contenders for next year’s general elections and see if there is any that matches Asiwaju’s courage and strategic thinking even though all of them are good in their ways.

“Tinubu is the only aspirant that has a database of talents, strategists and innovators to choose from and I urge every young Nigerian with expertise from any sector in Nigeria that is crying for attention to key into Tinubu’s talents bank. Tinubu is a detribalise Nigerian that has contact and strong influence across the nation”, the statement added.

The Convener of Tinubu Support Group, Ireland, Comrade Nosa noted that with his international connections and expertise in the tourism sector, Nigeria under Tinubu will become a tourist hub, spinning billions of Naira for the Nigerian economy. A sector that has largely been abandoned because of ignorance and lack of technical know-how on the part of employees and appointees under the ministry of culture and tourism.

“I am a tourism expert and part of the management team of one of the busiest tourist attractions in the world, ready to work for Tinubu to fix Nigeria’s tourism sector. Tourism does not need a budget after take off as it is self-sustaining. Currently, Nigeria only appoints a minister of culture which doesn’t add up as we cannot sell our culture but we can sell our tourism to showcase our culture”, the statement added.

Another quality of Tinubu that sets him apart from the other contenders, the CSO noted, is the fact that he institutionalises monitoring and evaluation in his leadership portfolio. A quality the group said is one thing Nigeria needs to ensure rapid development and accountability.

“Nigerians need Tinubu’s experience in the developmental affair, and his global contacts. His giant strides in Lagos State even in the face of federal persecution when Lagos state was denied state allocations for years is a testimony to his judicious use of scarce resources. Tinubu was battered politically still, Lagos was moving forward, and infrastructures were springing up and salaries were never owned”, the statement added.

The CSO finally urged Nigerians to disregard injurious posts and comments peddled in the print and electronic media against the person of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, insisting that though it’s normal to criticise when things are going wrong, it is important to be patient with Tinubu and the entire APC leadership as things will start getting better as soon as Tinubu assumes office come May, 2023.

“As a seasoned politician, Tinubu understands when it comes to politics, criticism is fair, he believes you have got to hold public people to account. When it comes to getting personal abuse which is normal in politics, Tinubu understands that too, because people are hurting when things are not going well. However, we have to be patient and respect constituted authority. Let us give Tinubu a chance to steer Nigeria out of this mess we are currently in”, the statement concluded.
