Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, the National Chairman of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), has accused a group of expelled members of attempting to destabilize the party.
Speaking at the Annual INEC Verification Exercise in Abuja on Thursday, Ahmed stated that the expelled group had been spreading false claims, including asserting control over the management of the party. He emphasized that the involvement of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the verification process confirmed that his faction represents the authentic NNPP.
“We have a group of expelled former members who have aligned with another party to sow division within the ranks of NNPP,” said Ahmed. “The presence of INEC here today proves that we are the legitimate New Nigeria Peoples Party.”
Ahmed also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to its role as the ruling party in Kano State and as a constructive opposition nationwide. He warned party members that while NNPP is a democratic organization, it will not tolerate anti-party activities, urging all members to adhere to the party’s constitution.
