Enugu State Applauds Simon Ekpa’s Arrest in Finland

-

The Enugu State Government has expressed approval of the arrest of Simon Ekpa by Finnish authorities, describing him as a “terrorist and criminal” whose actions have destabilized the South-East region.

In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, the administration announced its willingness to provide evidence against the Finland-based separatist. Ekpa is facing terrorism charges in Finland, a move the state government believes will foster peace and stability in the South-East.

“The Enugu State Government welcomes the arrest of the Finland-based terrorist, Simon Ekpa,” the statement read. “His arrest and trial will no doubt strengthen peace, security, and stability in all parts of the South-East.”

The government accused Ekpa of inciting violence, creating a climate of fear, and undermining the entrepreneurial spirit of the Igbo people while exploiting them under the guise of advocating for Biafra’s restoration.

For years, Ekpa allegedly used his base in Finland to incite unrest and destruction in the South-East, disrupting lives and property. The state government pledged full cooperation with Finnish authorities to ensure he faces justice for his alleged actions.

Ekpa’s arrest has sparked hope for a renewed focus on stability and prosperity in the region.
