Emzor Launches N1bn Anti-Drug Abuse Fund to Combat Youth Addiction

-

Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Limited has announced a N1 billion initiative to fight drug abuse in Nigeria. The announcement was made during the company’s 40th Anniversary Dinner and annual Thanksgiving in Lagos.

Dr. Stella Okoli, Founder and Group Managing Director of Emzor, emphasized the growing threat of drug abuse among Nigerian youths and society at large, urging collective action to address the crisis.

The newly launched Emzor Wellness Foundation Anti-Drug Abuse Fund will finance care and rehabilitation for victims of substance abuse. “The situation is so dire that we can no longer stand by and let the future be wasted,” Okoli said.

To further inspire young Nigerians, the Dr. Stella Okoli Prize for Entrepreneurship was introduced. This annual award will recognize innovative enterprises by female founders under 40, fostering entrepreneurship and ambition.

Marking 40 years of growth, Emzor plans to commission an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) plant and an ultra-modern factory. These facilities aim to boost local production and meet export demands across Africa, reducing dependency on imported medications.

“With our production capacity set to multiply, we envision a future where healthcare security is achieved, and affordable wellness is accessible to all,” Okoli stated.

Emzor’s commitment to wellness and innovation continues to shape Nigeria’s healthcare landscape.
