Super Eagles caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen acknowledges that Libya will present a formidable challenge in their upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match but remains optimistic about his team’s chances of success.

Nigeria will host the Mediterranean Knights in Uyo on Friday for the matchday three encounter. Currently, the Super Eagles lead Group D with four points from two matches.

Eguavoen emphasized that while his team is favored to win, they must be prepared for a determined fight from their opponents, who currently sit at the bottom of the group with just one point. “We are aware of our position, and they are aware of theirs,” Eguavoen stated. “They will come here and fight. Our focus is solely on the game in front of us on Friday.”

He expressed the urgency of securing three points, saying, “We know what it means to get the job done as quickly as possible. It’s going to be tough, but the boys are in good spirits. We have no injuries, and everyone is ready.”
