Music mogul Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, is facing criticism for his belated tribute to the late singer Mohbad. Mohbad, a promising 27-year-old artist and former Marlian signee, tragically passed away on Tuesday, September 12th. His death sparked an outpouring of love and condolences from fans, admirers, celebrities, and even those outside the music industry worldwide.

However, a full week had passed since Mohbad’s passing before Don Jazzy, who had been active on social media, finally posted a tribute on his Instagram page. In his message, the Mavins founder expressed his heartbreak over Mohbad’s absence to witness the overwhelming affection he received from people around the world. He emphasized that Mohbad didn’t deserve to endure the pain he went through and pledged that the singer would always be in our hearts.

This delayed tribute did not sit well with many, and they voiced their discontent in the comments section of Don Jazzy’s post. Some accused him of responding only when it became convenient, while others criticized him for not showing support sooner.

Before his untimely death, Mohbad had expressed a prophetic sentiment in an unreleased song, hinting at the possibility that people would only appreciate him after his passing. This lyric takes on a poignant meaning in the wake of his demise.

Additionally, Yvonne Jegede recently criticized Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, for underestimating Mohbad during his time under their label. She noted that Mohbad’s candlelight service, attended by thousands of youths, was a testament to his impact and potential. Yvonne accused Naira Marley of overestimating himself and not fully understanding Mohbad’s talent.
