Asa Asika, the manager of superstar Davido, recently shed light on why his artist has yet to collaborate with Burna Boy and Wizkid on a song.
During a recent appearance on the Ventes Rap show, Asika faced questions about Davido’s apparent lack of musical collaborations with major industry players like Wizkid and Burna Boy.
The interviewer directly asked, “How come we don’t see Davido featuring Burna Boy or Wizkid?”
Asika skillfully navigated the question, opting not to address it directly. Instead, he steered the conversation towards the collaborative efforts of other prominent musicians.
He pointed out that Wizkid and Burna Boy had collaborated on a song and highlighted Davido’s work with Kizz Daniel. Asika also underscored the connectivity and synergy within the music industry by emphasizing his partnership with Davido.
He stated, “There have been collaborations; Burna Boy and Wizkid have a song, Davido and Kizz Daniel have a song, Davido and Olamide have a song, Asake is on David’s album. So, the big artists in Nigeria work. They might not collaborate as often, but they do. Collaboration is one of the major things that have pushed Afrobeats to where it is.”
