Chidera Ejuke Tops La Liga Dribbling Charts

Published

on

Sevilla’s recent signing, Chidera Ejuke, has emerged as La Liga’s top dribbler, completing 17 successful dribbles in just four matches, according to a report from *PUNCH Sports Extra*.

Ejuke joined Sevilla as a free agent after a loan spell at Royal Antwerp from CSKA Moscow, signing a three-year deal with the Spanish club. Under coach García Pimienta, he has played in all league matches except for the game against Las Palmas.

Despite playing only 265 minutes this season, Ejuke’s dribbling prowess has outshined notable players like Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Junior, who both managed 16 dribbles, and Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, who has completed 13. Notably, Ejuke achieves a dribble approximately every 15 minutes of play, a remarkable statistic compared to Mbappé and Yamal’s longer playing times.

In 2021, Ejuke was recognized as the third-best dribbler in the world by CIES, finishing behind Adama Traore and Nahuel Lujan.

The 26-year-old forward, who has eight caps for the Super Eagles, was part of Nigeria’s squad for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations, where the team was eliminated in the round of 16 by Tunisia.

Ejuke and Sevilla will aim to continue their strong performance in their next match against Deportivo Alavés on Friday.
