CHAN Eagles Start Second Phase of Training for Ghana Clash

-

The Super Eagles B have kicked off the second phase of their preparations for the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Ghana in December. The first phase concluded last Thursday, allowing players to return to their clubs for the Nigeria Premier Football League matches before resuming camp on Tuesday with 26 players.

Interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen named a 32-man squad for this phase, which includes new additions like Remo Stars goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, Suur Kumaga from Lobi Stars, experienced winger Bernard Ovoke, and Dominion Ohaka of Water FC. The final nine players were expected to report on Wednesday, with the squad now gearing up for a two-week intensive training session.

The first leg of the qualifier will take place in Ghana between December 20-22, while the second leg is set for Nigeria a week later. The winner of the two-legged tie will secure a spot at the 2025 CHAN, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
