Champions League: Real Madrid Receives Major Injury Boost Ahead of Lille Clash

-

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has joined the squad for their upcoming Champions League match against Lille after recovering from a hamstring injury. The 25-year-old limped off during Madrid’s 3-2 victory over Alaves on September 24 and was initially expected to be sidelined for around three weeks.

Mbappe missed last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid, but he has now returned to full fitness. Reports from AS indicate that he has “good feelings” about his recovery, although a final decision on his participation against Lille is yet to be confirmed.

However, the squad will be without goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who is set for a brief period on the sidelines due to a groin injury. In his absence, Fran Gonzalez and Sergio Mestre will provide backup for Andriy Lunin in goal.
