Burna Boy Sparks Controversy After Storming Out of Ivory Coast Concert

Published

on

Grammy Award-winning artist Burna Boy has ignited online discussions following his display of frustration and abrupt exit during a concert in Ivory Coast.

In a video circulating on the internet, the Afrobeat sensation is seen visibly agitated as he leaves the stage during his performance. Reports suggest that Burna Boy’s frustration stemmed from the abrupt cutting off of his sound during the show.

Online reactions have been mixed, with some criticizing the artist for his perceived lack of control and ego, while others defended him, acknowledging the challenges artists face when technical issues arise during a live performance.

Mufasa Kingdom expressed disappointment, stating, “Other big artists before him never behaved this way. The guy will soon cool off.”

On the contrary, Mercy 5023 defended Burna Boy, describing him as a proud individual. Big7record emphasized Burna’s passion for music and blamed technical failure for the outburst.

Xan Draa questioned the wisdom of inviting an artist only to face technical difficulties, while Mr Lil Gaga shared the frustration, stating, “Do your job and let me do my job, don’t use your incompetence to affect my output.”

King Clue urged Burna Boy to remain calm, attributing the incident to technical issues, and Preshhxx empathized, understanding Burna Boy’s passion for live performances.

This incident follows Burna Boy’s recent commentary during a live concert, where he hinted at a hierarchy in the industry, distinguishing himself from the “Big 3,” comprising himself, Davido, and Wizkid. This statement had previously stirred controversy on social media, drawing reactions from fans of Wizkid and Davido.

Burna Boy’s history of controversial remarks includes a comment last year criticizing 90 percent of Afrobeat songs for lacking real-life experience and substance. This led to a public exchange with Rema, who took a shot at Burna Boy during an award ceremony, emphasizing their common ground in the Afrobeats community.
