The North Central Elders Forum of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed support for Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule regarding the future of the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. This comes ahead of the upcoming Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings, amid speculations about Ganduje’s position.
The forum, led by its Chairman and former Senate President, Senator Ameh Ebute, commended Governor Sule for his recent solidarity visit to Ganduje at the party’s national secretariat. The visit was seen as a crucial step in addressing concerns within the North Central zone of the APC, where some stakeholders have called for Ganduje’s removal.
The elders praised Governor Sule for his leadership in promoting peace within the APC in the region. They also acknowledged the efforts of President Bola Tinubu and Ganduje in resolving the political crisis in Benue State, which led to the formation of a Caretaker Committee that has brought stability to both the party and governance in the state.
Senator Ebute urged other APC governors in the region to follow Governor Sule’s example by engaging with the party’s national leadership. The forum also applauded the Ganduje-led National Working Committee (NWC) for establishing the National Progressives Institute and called for the inclusion of North Central representatives in its leadership.
The elders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives that benefit the North Central zone, leveraging the APC’s governance to attract development to the region.
