The All Progressives Congress (APC) has initiated efforts to resolve internal disputes and strengthen unity in its Adamawa State chapter by forming an eight-member reconciliation committee.
Headed by Senator Muhammed Mana, the committee is tasked with addressing grievances among party members and ensuring cohesion. Other members include Senators Bello Tukur, Abubakar Girei, Binta Masi Garba, Martins Babale, Yusuf Buba Yakubu, and Dr. Bridget Zidon, with Isa Baba serving as secretary.
During a meeting held in Yola, APC National Vice Chairman for the North East, Mustapha Salihu, explained that the committee has begun consultations in Abuja and will soon proceed to Yola to engage with stakeholders directly.
This move follows an earlier Abuja meeting involving National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, where the importance of reconciliation and unity was emphasized. The Yola meeting brought together state executive committee members, local government chairmen, and eight APC members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
The APC Adamawa State Publicity Secretary, Mohammed Abdullahi, confirmed the party’s commitment to fostering genuine unity. This comes amid concerns about declining popularity, with some influential members reportedly leaving or threatening to leave the party.
The reconciliation committee is expected to address these issues and restore confidence among party members to position the APC as a stronger force in Adamawa State politics.
