The family of the late Akwa Ibom First Lady, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, has officially announced her burial arrangements. Scheduled for November 29, 2024, her funeral service will take place at her hometown in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.
Her husband, Governor Umo Eno, and the bereaved family, along with the Akwa Ibom State Government, finalized these plans to honor her life and legacy. Secretary to the State Government and Chair of the Central Planning Committee, Enobong Uwah, made the announcement on Friday, expressing gratitude for the nationwide support during this difficult time.
“We are immensely grateful for the prayers, tributes, and comforting words from people across the country,” Uwah shared, encouraging friends and well-wishers to participate in the planned events to celebrate her legacy.
The late First Lady, known for her compassion and dedication to faith, passed away on September 26, 2024. Governor Eno, in a heartfelt tribute, remarked, “My wife was not just my partner; she was a pillar of strength for our family and for Akwa Ibom. Her compassion was unmatched, and she will be dearly missed.”
A series of commemorative events will begin on November 20 with the opening of the Mourning House, followed by condolence visits up to November 26. On November 22, a Night of Worship and Tributes will be held at the International Christian Worship Centre in Uyo, with music and speeches to honor her impactful life. Dr. Frank Ekpenyong, SSA-ICT, stated, “Her Excellency was a beacon of hope, and this night of worship is a small testament to the light she brought to countless lives.”
