The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has announced a ban on non-essential photos and videos during the burial service of actor Junior Pope.
AGN president Emeka Rollas issued the directive on Instagram on Tuesday, emphasizing that all bloggers and members of the press must obtain accreditation from the family for the event.
He stated, “It’s a devastating and sorrowful period for the Actors Guild of Nigeria. Therefore, we shall not indulge in any unnecessary picture or video recording that is not by the official photographers at the proceedings of the final journey of our departed colleague. All Press/ Bloggers must be accredited by the family.”
He also expressed gratitude to several individuals for their support, including Hon Peter Aniekwe Udogalanya, Hon Maureen Gwacham, Hon Peter Ifeanyi Uzokwe, Chief Kenneth Ifekudu [Agbalanze], and Lady Ada Anene [Ada Ozubulu].
Junior Pope tragically passed away on the night of April 10 after multiple resuscitation attempts failed. The actor, along with makeup artist Abigail Frederick and other production crew members, drowned in the Anam River while returning from the set of “Another Side of Life,” a film produced by Adanma Luke.
