Libya’s head coach, Nasser Al-Hadiri, has praised Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman, describing him as a world-class player who can make a significant impact in Nigeria’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Libya. The match is set to take place on Friday evening at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
During a pre-match press conference, Al-Hadiri acknowledged the strength of the Nigerian national team, emphasizing that they are not reliant on a single player. He stated, “The Nigerian national team is strong, not just an individual. It’s the best team in Africa.”
He went on to highlight Lookman’s capabilities, stating, “They have a lot of players like Atalanta’s Lookman and others. All the players are world-class, so the absence of Victor Osimhen alone does not make any difference. I know that Victor Osimhen is the best player in Africa, but he does not make any difference for them.”
This commendation comes as Nigeria prepares to face Libya without their star striker Osimhen, making Lookman’s role even more crucial for the Super Eagles.
