Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has declared that opposition parties are “unpopular and invisible” in the run-up to the November 16 local government elections, stating that they stand no chance against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking on Sunday through his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Kayode Akinmade, Abiodun credited his administration’s five years of governance for transforming Ogun’s political landscape. He emphasized that his government has created an environment where opposition parties can operate freely but still failed to make significant political inroads due to the APC’s success.
Abiodun further stated that the quality of candidates the APC is fielding across the 20 local government areas would ensure a landslide victory. He urged party members to remain united and committed to maintaining the progress his administration has made, predicting that the APC’s track record would secure their victory on election day.
